What to bring

  • A Washington State ID with your current address on it

    • If the address on your ID is not current, you must provide supporting documentation with your current address: (See WA Residence & Address Documents below)

  • If you are active duty military stationed in Washington state with an out of state ID, please bring a copy of your current PCS orders in Washington State.

  • If you are purchasing a semi-automatic rifle, you must bring your 1639 Course Completion Certificate

What to Expect

All firearm purchases or transfers require a background check*. You will come in and fill out a Federal Firearm Transaction Record (4473) and a Washington State DOL Firearms Transfer Application (for handguns and semi-automatic rifles). Please allow adequate time as this process usually takes about 30 minutes on average to complete. Documents are then sent to the appropriate law enforcement agency for the background check. Upon receipt of approval, we will notify you, and you will be able to pick up your new firearm.

  • If you are purchasing/transferring a semi-automatic rifle, there is a minimum 10 business day waiting period as per state law (RCW 9.41.092). Once the approval comes back from the appropriate agency, AND the 10 day waiting period has elapsed, we will call you to come pick up your firearm.

  • If you are purchasing/transferring a bolt, break, lever, or pump action rifle or shotgun, your background check will be run in-house; upon approval, the firearm will be released to you that day.

  • If purchasing a handgun and have not been a Washington state resident for at least 90 consecutive days, background delays may occur (up to 60 days).

  • You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase any handgun or semi-automatic rifle.

* In the event of a denial, a restocking fee of 10% of the purchase price will be assessed.
